Printing You Can Trust
Nathanael and Walker have been inkjet printing for artists from all over the world for many many years. They are technically at the top of their game and they teach inkjet printing to other printmakers world-wide. You are in good hands.
Our process is efficient. Small prints up to 44″ wide go right onto the cut table and are inspected and interleaved and packed.
We print fully gloss-optimized color inkjet up to 60″ wide. The gloss prints over both the inked image and paper white.
We print, cut, pack, and ship globally.
From the Masters
Walker Blackwell, a key figure in shaping digital inkjet printing since the early 2000s, coined the term “pigment print” with other early digital printmakers. He also consulted with Hahnemuhle and Canson on their Lab Certification programs and invented Piezography Pro monochromatic ink, PiezoDN digital negatives, and many other workflows and tools in use around the globe. As a “printmaker’s printmaker,” he consults with shops, technicians, and paper manufacturers worldwide. His expertise, historical knowledge, and connections to the industry boils down to one word: quality.

Beyond Monochrome
We have developed dedicated monochrome ink sets in our previous work. Since then, we’ve invented new advanced monochromatic printing methods that expand tonal hue control and overall quality. We use a 10-channel printer with super dark carbon Matte Black ink, an extra LLLK (Light Light Light Black) ink, and a gloss optimizer. This is a full-color/full-monochrome matte/gloss printer.

For Artists by Artists
Prints on Paper is a platform run by artists for artists. We understand the challenges artists face when making decisions about media, sizing, production costs, and more. We are flexible in all these areas, so feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance. Instead of publishing a list of papers we support, we would like to say that we generally support everything that can be run through an aqueous inkjet printer. We have some papers that we recommend though. Call or txt if you have questions or need suggestions!
PRICES
We strive to be as cost-effective as possibly while upholding our very high quality standards. Use the calculator below for a quick quote. Odd-ball sizes (like 1×50 inches) may be higher than the calculator below.
Small Print Pricing:
Small prints are labor-intensive to produce so we custom quote these prices for anything under 16×20 inches. We recommend printing a quantity of images at a time. Please let us know your preferences, and we’ll provide you with a quote promptly.
Medium and Large Print Pricing:
Our prices start at $30 per square foot for most media, beginning with the 16”x20” size. For specialty printing on unique media like uncoated fine art, thin gampi, linen, and silk, the pricing is higher and subject to a custom quote. You can reserve specialty, non-standard, or non-stocked media in advance with a security deposit. Before production begins, we profile all media (free of charge).
In-Studio Pricing:
All prices are discounted during a studio day, with a minimum studio day fee of $450. This is one of the most cost-effective ways to print. When artists work in the studio, they can monitor the prints as they come off the printers, allowing for edits, viewing of results, and real-time collaboration with the master printers.
Minimum Order Amount:
Our minimum order amount is $95.
Prices do not include taxes, shipping, or packing. Prices above are an estimate only. Different sizes roughly fall in the price ranges above based on square footage. Very odd-ball print dimensions (like 1” by 40”) may be priced differently.
** In-Studio production requires a $450 minimum security deposit.
