Everything we sell for an 8″ × 10″ direct-to-plate setup, with enough plates to calibrate and validate your process, from the first exposure test to a finished print.
What it is: our QuadToneRIP curves for Toray water-wash plates, the Profiler calibration tool, the targets, the training manual and step-by-step videos.
Why it's here: it's how you print the image onto the plate, and how you calibrate the curve to your own press, ink and paper.
What it is: true 365nm, 24V UV LEDs for building your own exposure unit, with connectors and a free build guide and wiring diagrams.
Why three: an 8″ × 10″ plate needs a 13″ × 15″ LED grid (2.5″ of overhang on every side for even exposure to the edges). That's about 12.5 m of strip, so three reels.
What it is: the 0.95 mm steel-backed, water-wash photopolymer plate we use every day.
Why five: calibrating takes four plates (an exposure test, the open-bite limit, the 80×10 calibration target and a validation print), and the fifth is for your first image or a second validation pass.
Not included: a 24V power supply (at least 255 W / 10.6 A for this grid), a large-format Epson printer that QuadToneRIP supports, an X-Rite i1Pro spectrophotometer and an etching press. See the full list on the workflow page.
Photogravure workshops in Cabot, Vermont. Each in-person workshop includes the workflow and 5 hours of remote setup support.
A large-format Epson printer that QuadToneRIP supports, a Mac with QuadToneRIP and i1Profiler, an X-Rite i1Pro Rev E or i1Pro 3 spectrophotometer, a UV exposure unit and an etching press. The full list is on the workflow page.
