Rembrandt’s most striking etched landscape is chock-full of figures from foreground to horizon. While meticulously working at a pixel-to-pixel level on the lines during the creation of this plate, we discovered even more figures that were previously unseen in the original print. It’s worth a solid wipe in the shadow area to reveal the foreground pond.

This 1:1 scale plate empowers anyone with a printing press to create an exact replica of the original etching. Through this manual process, time, inking, and careful observation, we hope to enhance the depth and personal connection between the printmaker and the artwork.
